H5P Organization API now available for enterprise customers
We’re making it easier for enterprise organizations to access and manage the H5P Organization API. The API gives administrators and IT teams more flexibility to integrate H5P with existing systems and workflows, with programmatic access to organizational content, folders, and users.
With the API, organizations can:
Access content and metadata: Retrieve information about H5P content, including titles, content types, ownership, creation and modification dates, and visibility. Use this information to build content inventories, support reporting, or integrate H5P data into internal systems.
Automate content creation: Create H5P content programmatically, making it possible to connect H5P with external content production workflows and applications.
Manage users and folders: Retrieve user information, create user accounts, and organize content into folders, reducing manual administrative work.
Keep external systems up to date: Retrieve content created or modified since a specified date, allowing organizations to build integrations that regularly synchronize information with their own systems.
Improved API key management
Enterprise administrators with Organization API access enabled can now manage API credentials directly from their http://H5P.com organization’s settings. The new interface allows them to generate and manage API keys, making it easier to set up and maintain integrations without relying on manual support processes. These improvements may be particularly useful for larger institutions and enterprises managing substantial amounts of H5P content across teams, departments, or systems.
Organizations interested in using the Organization API can contact their H5P Account Manager for enablement and more information.
Authoring and navigation
This release makes everyday authoring and administration more straightforward.
Authors can now return to their work more easily, with “My Content” shown first in the navigation and accessible through both “Manage Content” and the H5P logo. Administrators can also find user management more quickly, as “Users” now appears first under “Manage Organization.”
In addition, authors can insert non-breaking spaces in rich text, keeping words and punctuation together when text wraps onto another line.
Accessibility
Learners have clearer ways to follow media, operate audio controls, and understand their results.
More readable captions in Firefox: Interactive Video captions now display at the correct size in Firefox, making dialogue easier to read.
Clearer Memory Game audio controls: Memory Game audio controls have clearer screen-reader labels, tooltips, and keyboard access, helping learners identify and operate them.
More informative Flashcards results for screen-reader users: Flashcards results provide more information to screen-reader users, including image descriptions, correct or incorrect answers, and score labels - helping learners understand feedback without relying on visual indicators
Improvements and Fixes
Several fixes reduce interruptions during learning and make content display more consistently.
More reliable YouTube imports: Smart Import is now more reliable when retrieving and processing YouTube videos as source material, reducing interruptions during the import process
Empty Question Sets no longer break an Interactive Book: Improved handling of Question Sets with no questions in the redesigned experience, keeping book navigation and other content working.
View Flashcards reports containing underscores: Fixed a report crash caused by consecutive underscores in question text, so learners and teachers can access the result.
More reliable user search in large organisations: Fixed an issue that could cause user searches to fail in large organisations, interrupting authors when adding collaborators. Suggestions now appear after at least three characters are entered and return up to 100 matches, keeping searches manageable and reliable.
Enable Active Surface Mode without an error: Fixed an editor error when activating this setting in Course Presentation, so authors can select the mode without interruption.
Fixed free-text grading for teachers. Resolved an issue that prevented eligible course teachers and content authors from grading Interactive Video free-text questions through H5P reports, LMS grading tools, and Gradebook.
Security
Added protection when editing rich text: Restricted potentially unsafe HTML attributes in the editor, reducing the risk to authors when pasting untrusted content.
