Highlights
Self-service upgrade to Premium
Pro customers can now upgrade to Premium directly from H5P.com, without needing to contact Support. Premium includes advanced creation features such as Smart Import and Layout Builder, making it easier to create richer learning content faster.
This option is available from your subscription settings.
What’s new in the purchasing experience
Upgrade from Pro to Premium: Customers can move to a higher-tier plan through a self-serve flow.
Downgrade from Premium to Pro: Customers can switch to a lower-tier plan directly through the purchasing experience.
Enterprise contact flow: Customers can select the Enterprise option and complete an online form to request follow-up from Sales.
How it works
Customers with an active subscription can review available plans and choose whether to move between Pro and Premium. If Enterprise is selected, a contact form is shown so our Sales team can follow up and help define the right setup.
The updated experience is designed to make plan changes clearer and to give customers more flexibility when managing their subscription.
Billing when you already have an active subscription
If you already have an active subscription, billing is handled automatically as part of the plan change.
Upgrading from Pro to Premium: The change takes effect immediately. Any billing adjustment for the remaining time in your current billing period is prorated.
Downgrading from Premium to Pro: The downgrade is scheduled, and the updated price applies when the downgrade takes effect based on your subscription terms.
Legacy or grandfathered subscriptions: If you move from a legacy or grandfathered plan to a currently supported plan, the new subscription uses the active pricing for that supported plan.
Your billing cycle and renewal details continue to be managed through your subscription, and any updates are reflected as part of the change.
FAQ
Can I upgrade from Pro to Premium myself?
Yes. You can move from Pro to Premium directly through the self-serve experience on Manage Organization/Plans & Billing/Manage Subscription page inside your H5P account.
Can I downgrade from Premium to Pro myself?
Yes. You can change from Premium to Pro through the same self-serve experience. The downgrade is applied according to your subscription terms rather than as an immediate loss of access.
What happens to my billing if I change plans in the middle of a subscription period?
For upgrades, billing adjustments are prorated for the remainder of the active billing period. For downgrades, the new price takes effect when the downgrade becomes active. Customers moving from legacy or grandfathered plans to a supported plan will move to the current active pricing for that plan.
Can I choose Enterprise online?
Yes. You can select the Enterprise option and submit an online form. A member of our Sales team will then contact you to continue the process.
Do I need to contact support to change between Pro and Premium?
No. Eligible customers can manage these changes through the self-serve experience without contacting support.
Smart Import just got better
Smart Import has been upgraded to produce better-structured draft content from your source materials, especially when working with longer or more complex documents.
The update improves how Smart Import interprets source content, organizes learning material, and generates H5P activities. We have also improved the underlying AI infrastructure to make imports more consistent and reliable.
Canvas LTI 1.3 Compatibility Update
What changed:
We've updated our Canvas LTI 1.3 integration to align with Canvas's latest authentication infrastructure.
Impact:
This change helps ensure continued compatibility with Canvas as they roll out updates to their authentication systems. Existing Canvas LTI 1.3 integrations will continue to work normally, and supported configurations are updated automatically where applicable.
How to enable:
No action is required. New Canvas LTI 1.3 connections automatically use the updated configuration, and existing supported configurations are migrated as part of this release.
A11y: Contrast Compliance (WCAG 2.2 AA) Across Themes in New Look and Feel
For the new look and feel supported content types, we have fixed the contrast ratios across multiple themes to meet the WCAG 2.2 Contrast (Minimum) Level AA criterion. Users with low vision or in bright-light environments will now be able to read text and interact with controls reliably across all built-in and light custom themes.
The following elements now meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 for normal text and 3:1 for large text and UI components.
Improved primary buttons' color contrast in Sunset, Mint, and Daylight themes across normal, hover, and active states.
Improved tooltip’s visibility with updated icon and background colors in both default and hover states across all themes, including custom themes using light background colors.
Simplified Branching Scenario Editing in LTI
What changed:
When editing a Branching Scenario via an LTI integration (Canvas, Moodle, Brightspace, Blackboard), the "Open editor in a new tab" button has been removed. The "Continue in the current tab" button is now the primary action with updated styling. The helper text now reads: "For full-screen editing, open this Branching Scenario on H5P.com".

Interactive Book – MP4 Video on Cover Page
What changed:
Fixed a bug where MP4 video used as cover media on Interactive Book (IB) cover pages in the new look and feel, was visually cropped, hiding parts of the video and the player controls. The video container now adjusts its height rather than its width, ensuring the complete video and playback controls are displayed.
Impact:
Customers using Interactive Book or Question Set with MP4 video or panoramic images as cover media will now see the full video without cropping. The fix applies to both Interactive Book and Question Set content types.
How to enable:
No action needed, this fix applies automatically to all Interactive Book content in new look and feel with cover page media in video format.
