Are you trying to download your H5Ps by following the Download or Copy H5P Content guide but don’t see the option to download below your content? This guide can help you solve that problem.
There are a few things we need to check to enable H5P downloads:
Organization Settings
First, confirm that your global H5P.com settings allow content downloads.
To do this:
- Log in as an Administrator

Go to Manage Organization > Settings

Open Content Behaviour Settings

Locate the Allow Download setting and choose one of the following options:
- Never – No one can download H5Ps.
- Always – Everyone, including non-H5P.com users, can download H5Ps.
- Only for Authors – Only H5P.com authors can download content.
- Controlled by Author (On by Default) – Downloads are enabled by default, but the author can change this.
- Controlled by Author (Off by Default) – Downloads are disabled by default, but the author can change this.
H5P setting
If your organization settings use either Controlled by Author (On by Default) or Controlled by Author (Off by Default), authors can decide whether their content can be downloaded within the H5P authoring tool.
To adjust this setting:
- Open the H5P authoring tool
- Scroll to the bottom of the page
- Inside Display Options, look for Allow users to download the content and enable or disable it as needed
The toolbar below the content
Another possible reason you don’t see the download option is that the Toolbar Below Content is disabled. Since the Reuse button is inside the toolbar, you’ll need to enable it.
- Admins can enable or disable the toolbar for all H5Ps in the organization by going to Organization Settings > Settings > Content Behaviour Settings and checking the Toolbar Below Content box.
- Authors can toggle this setting under Display Options within their content.
Following these steps should allow you to download your H5Ps!
