Student authoring will allow students to create content directly from the LMS via LTI. Students may typically do this in discussions or forums where they have access to a rich text editor allowing them to insert LTI content.
Student authoring is a feature only available to customers who have secured an enterprise or site license with the student authoring extension.
What student authors can do:
-
Create content (including folders)
-
Edit their own content
-
Change display options
-
Add content into their own folders
What student authors can not do:
-
Change publish settings (these content items should always be "protected")
-
Add collaborators
-
Be a collaborator
-
Share content within organization folders
-
See the content of an organization folder
-
Change the "Send score to LMS" setting
-
See reports for their own content (or any other content)
-
Content owned by a student should never send scores/grades to the LMS
Content owned by a student author should have a special indicator so that admins and super users easily can recognize such content within the content list (including folders).
